The completion of the 86-kilometre Narok-Sekenani road, into the Maasai Mara national reserve in Kenya now offers much easier access to tourists and tour groups. Access by air has also been made possible through adequate air trips within the Masai Mara ecosystem.
This was highlighted in the latest Magical Kenya newsletter, noting that the completion of this road was a welcome development for tourists and drivers who have previously had a difficult time to get to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.
It took 30 months for the China Wu Yi Company to rehabilitate the ill-maintained, pot-holed road which resulted in many tourist vehicles breaking down.
Improvements on the road included widening the carriageway from a width of 5.5 metres to six and better drainage systems.
