Mara Olodare, a new tented camp characterised by eco-friendly facilities and modern amenities, has opened in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya, 800 metres from the Oloolaimutia entrance.
Nelson Kibicho, Mara Olodare Reservations told Tourism Update: “It is a semi-luxury tented camp, with eight tents offering queen-size beds as well as twin (single options).”
The camp can accommodate up to 16 guests in its eight tents measuring 16m² by 18m². All eight airy tents are en-suite, featuring high-quality canvas, and carpeting throughout.
There is an outdoor restaurant at Mara Olodare, featuring some of Kenya’s famous and traditional dishes made by the on-site chef.
In addition, guests can enjoy themed nights, nature walks, guided Maasai community culture tours, bird watching, game drives and more.
Mara Olodare customises each day to let guests view different species of game in their natural habitat, with flexible game drives to suit each guest’s schedule.
Maasai Mara is a favourite amongst tourists, known for its Great Wildebeest Migration and the Big Five, with a variety of bird species. Mara Olodare ensures guests make the most of their time in the region, picking up guests from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or the city centre, driving through the Great Rift Valley, and arriving in time for lunch at Mara Olodare, with an evening game drive to end off the day.
Kibicho said Mara Olodare is owned by Seven Generations, a consultancy services company for the hospitality industry, together with two local investors, Moses Muchoki and John Mwangi.
