Details remain sketchy about how a private aircraft from Zimbabwe managed to breach South African skies before touching down at OR Tambo International Airport (Ortia) earlier today.
The unauthorised plane with an Italian national on board was ordered to return to its point of origin.
Authorities said they didn't know how the passenger, who also holds a South African passport, had managed to board a plane destined for Ortia without being stopped by officials.
This is especially given South Africa's stringent Covid-19 lock-down procedures.
Zimbabwe too is currently in lock-down.
Investigations into the security breach were under way at the time this report was posted.
