Insurance broker, SATIB, is to host a webinar to increase tourism business operators’ understanding of the liability and legal risks associated with COVID-19.
“COVID has not only created an extremely fluid environment, it has also raised additional risks for the travel, tourism, hospitality and leisure sector. Our goal is to help our customers, and the industry at large, to mitigate risk, and what cannot be mitigated, by equipping providers with the tools, the knowledge, etc. to manage that risk,” said SATIB Executive Head, Dewald Cillie.
He told Tourism Update that SATIB wanted to help business owners understand all the risks associated with COVID, many of which have been specifically excluded from insurance policies.
“The better we prepare, the stronger our value proposition as tourism businesses, the stronger our tourism community in the end,” said Cillie.
The webinar, titled ‘Liability and Legal Implications of COVID-19 on Tourism Businesses’, will take place on January 19 at 10h00 (CAT).
The panel of experts comprise:
- Director and Partner at Stefan de Beer & Co. Attorneys, Stefan de Beer
- MD and Co-Founder of Wild Wings Safaris, Onne Vegter, and
- Operations Director of Africa SAFE-T, Lucien Niemann.
