The Steenbras Nature Reserve and the Steenbras Gorge (Crystal Pools) hike is open to the public despite the roadworks along a 3km section of Clarence Drive (R44) between Gordon’s Bay and Rooi Els.
However, the R44 will be closed between the Grill Shack and the Steenbras Dam Mountain pass from 08h00 to 18h00 until February 16.
As such, those wanting to visit the reserve are advised to approach from the Rooi Els side.
