Wine Town Stellenbosch, the annual week-long celebration of wine and Wineland living is taking place from July 29 to August 4.
The Stellenbosch Wine Festival, a significant event that began in 1973 and is hosted in the town hall, is scheduled to take place on August 2-3. Approximately 60 of the country’s top wine producers will showcase more than 200 wines for tasting.
The Festival will take place from 17h00 to 21h00 on Friday, August 2 and from 14h00 to 18h00 on Saturday, August 3.
Popular wines including Simonsig, Alto, Spier, Rust en Vrede, Blaauwklippen and Kleine Zalze, amongst others will be represented at this year’s Stellenbosch Wine Festival.
The food on offer comes from the kitchens of celebrated chef Bertus Basson and will be prepared by Bertus Basson Restaurants Group Chef Adel Grewar. The culinary presentation will include a harvest table, floating small plates mostly themed around traditional flavours and tastes, and a buffet of desserts.
Tickets are being sold at R490 per person which includes 18 wine tasting tokens, live music performances and the harvest feast.
