The Rwandan government has extended the promotion for the reduced gorilla trekking fees in the Volcanoes National Park for Rwandans, East African nationals, foreign residents in Rwanda, all African residents and all foreigners residing in Africa.
This extended reduction is in place for the year to December 31. The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) noted that this fee adjustment extension is intended to bolster the ongoing recovery of the tourism industry by attracting increased numbers of regional tourist.
In a promotional notice released on January 5, the fees remain as $500 for foreign residents and $200 for locals per person, per trek. For international visitors, RDB confirmed, that the fee remains at $1 500 per person per trek.
