Hutwini Walking Safaris Camp in South Africa's Makuleke Contractual Park will reopen in April after undergoing extensive renovations.
Operated by RETURN Africa as part of its Pafuri Collection in northern Kruger National Park, the camp has been upgraded to provide a more comfortable and spacious guest experience.
The rebuilt camp features a furnished lounge, a mess area for relaxation and dining, and new guest tents. Each of the four 8m x 4m tents opens on to a private wooden deck and comes equipped with flush toilets and outdoor bucket showers. The tent interiors mirror the earthy bush surrounds.
“The new upgrades provide better cooling and shade with optimal tent placement. Hutwini joins Nkula Walking Safaris Camp in offering intimate guided walking safaris from April to October annually. Guides from the Makuleke community lead adventures through the area's spectacular diversity of landscape and wildlife,” RETURN Africa.
The partnership between the Makuleke community and RETURN Africa provides substantial local employment. Approximately 95% of the Pafuri Collection’s full-time staff, including all its senior managers, hail from the community.
