Montclair Hotel and Casino in Nyanga in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands is undergoing a refurbishment.
The work, which started late last year, will be done in phases and is expected to be completed by mid-year. The hotel remains open for business during this period.
Montclair General Manager, Brian Nyakutombwa, says the refurbishments will cover the entire property. “The facility is not closed. We are remaining [open] with rooms to sell to our customers while the renovations are going on. The refurbishments are being done…section by section so that the other parts remain open for business during this period.”
Bedrooms, kitchen, front office and entertainment areas will all be spruced up.
Owned by a consortium of local business people, Montclair has 85 rooms and is the largest property in Nyanga. It has the largest conference facilities in the area, and a nine-hole golf course.
The 772-metre-high Mutarazi Falls is one of the nearby attractions. The Falls, which are the highest in Zimbabwe and second-highest in Africa, offer great adrenalin activities such as the skywalk and zipline.
Nyanga is also home to Mt. Inyangani, Nyangombe Falls, and abundant wildlife in the Nyanga National Park.
