Africa’s first Netball World Cup is just a couple of days away and all 16 competing nations have safely arrived in the Mother City.
All the netball action is taking place at Cape Town International Convention Centre from July 28 until August 6.
“Having the Netball World Cup on the African continent is a historic moment for the sport, the country, the players and, of course, the people. On behalf of the City and all the stakeholders involved in putting this tournament together, I’d like to welcome all the participating nations to our beautiful city – we are excited to host you and this momentous tournament in Cape Town.
“May all of you embrace the true spirit of sportsmanship and continue to inspire many young girls across the globe and contribute to the growth and legacy of netball. I hope that you have a memorable experience during your stay here,” said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith.
