There’s no pleasing some people, as these tourist comments from TripAdvisor prove:
1. Grand Canyon : “I drove nine hours one-way to see it, but it felt like it was only worth a two-hour drive. So if you happen to be within two hours, it’s worth considering.”
2. Eiffel Tower: “More like the Awful Tower. Go if you must, but you won’t enjoy it. The view is okay – if you like views.”
3. Niagara Falls: “The falls were full of litter and in every direction there were neon lights and overpriced burgers.”
4. Statue of Liberty: “It’s just a statue. I don’t get it.”
5. Taj Mahal: “The moment you come close to it, 50 guides will surround you. There is no control over these scoundrels.”
6. Sydney Opera House: “Save yourself the effort and view it from the bridge. Silly egg carton.”
7. The Louvre: “They should take the top ten attractions, line them up along a wall, and put a people mover in front of it. The tourists can see all 10 in 15 minutes, take their selfies, and check the box. The rest of us can enjoy the art.”
8. Machu Picchu: “The so-called Italian pizza has horrible tasting llama cheese on it. No matter what they tell you, that’s what it is.”
9. The Great Wall of China: “I couldn’t enjoy the scenery because I was too busy trying not to be trampled. Besides that, it was great. Ha ha, just kidding. I hated it.”
10. Angkor Wat: “Go and see Angkor Wat to see what is really wrong with it, and please don’t make the mistake I did and go for anything other than that.”
