Air Traffic Navigation Services (ATNS) has announced that the instrument landing system (ILS) for runway 11 at East London’s King Phalo Airport has been approved by the South African Civil Aviation Authority.
As a result of the approval, ATNS says flight operations are expected to improve, reducing the likelihood of the disruption seen recently, such as cancellations, diversions and delays.
Kirby Gordon, FlySafair Chief Marketing Officer, confirmed that the approval of runway 11’s ILS flight procedure would allow commercial flights to and from King Phalo Airport to resume with fewer disruptions.
“It’s a great relief to have this procedure in place so that we can offer the kind of reliable service we strive for,” said Gordon.
